ⓘ Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is an NHS Acute Foundation Trust which operates 9 hospitals throughout Greater Manchester. It was formed by the merger of Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust on 1 October 2017. It is the largest NHS trust in the United Kingdom, with an income of £1.6bn and 21.945 staff. The trust is planning to take over North Manchester General Hospital in 2020, currently run by Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Before the formation of the new trust, competition and markets authority has decided that while the merger will significantly reduce competition among medical services, the benefits for patients was more significant.
